Srinagar – This Independence Day, the valleys of Kashmir witnessed an unprecedented sight as thousands joined the Pahalgam Tiranga Yatra. Organized by the Muslim Rashtriya Manch (MRM) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), the march filled Pahalgam with the colors of the national flag and the echoes of patriotic slogans.
Participants from across communities carried the Tricolor, chanting “Jai Hind Mata Ki,” sending a clear message that Kashmir’s destiny is tied with India’s unity, peace, and development. Leaders described the march as a declaration that terrorism and separatism are relics of the past, while the future belongs to harmony and brotherhood.

Following the Tiranga Yatra, MRM workers visited the 185 CRPF Camp in Lathpura, where women and young girls tied rakhi on the wrists of soldiers. The ceremony, marking Raksha Bandhan, symbolized the bond between citizens and the armed forces.
Soldiers expressed that the gesture made them feel like they were celebrating the festival with their families. Organizers said the event reflected how Kashmir’s daughters and sisters stand with those protecting the nation.
RSS and MRM Leaders Reaffirm India’s Integrity
Senior RSS leader Indresh Kumar described Kashmir as the “crown of India” and reiterated that no power can weaken India’s unity. He also declared that Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) remains part of India and will one day be integrated under the national flag.
The march also carried a wider message — that Kashmir’s story is shifting from violence and separatism toward stability, growth, and reconciliation.
MRM’s National Coordinator Mohammad Afzal said the aim of the march was to “weave Kashmir’s soul with India’s heartbeat,” asserting that the spirit of India is equally alive in Srinagar, Delhi, or Mumbai.
Another MRM leader, Abu Bakar Naqvi, stressed that Hindus and Muslims together safeguard India’s unity. “This march sends a message to those who seek to divide the nation — Indians stand united,” he said.

Professor Shahid Akhtar reminded participants that Kashmir has always been a land of sages, Sufis, and saints, where peace and brotherhood were guiding traditions. “Terrorism is not Kashmir’s identity; humanity is its true heritage,” he said.
Dr. Shalini Ali, another coordinator of MRM, underscored the principle of “One Nation, One Citizenship, One Flag.” She noted that movements like Har Ghar Tiranga show how the Tricolor unites people across the country.

Religious scholar Qari Abrar Jamal said the march highlighted Islam’s true message of peace. “When Muslim sisters tie rakhis to soldiers, it shows both faith and culture are dedicated to protecting the nation,” he noted, countering misconceptions about divided loyalties.
