Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a significant visit to the Adampur Air Force Station in Punjab on Tuesday morning, May 13, 2025, where he delivered a rousing speech to Indian Air Force personnel and soldiers. The visit, which came in the wake of heightened tensions with Pakistan following India’s successful Operation Sindoor, served as both a morale-boosting gesture and a strong rebuttal to Pakistan’s disinformation campaign.

During his visit, PM Modi interacted with air warriors and soldiers, praising their courage and dedication. Accompanied by Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh, he received a detailed briefing on the security situation at the airbase, which houses critical assets like the MiG-29 fighter jets and the S-400 air defense system. The Prime Minister’s presence at Adampur, one of the key bases targeted by Pakistan on May 9-10, underscored India’s resilience and military strength.
“Earlier this morning, I went to AFS Adampur and met our brave air warriors and soldiers. It was a very special experience to be with those who epitomize courage, determination, and fearlessness. India is eternally grateful to our armed forces for everything they do for our nation,” PM Modi posted on X.
In his speech, broadcast live at 3:30 PM IST, PM Modi emphasized the success of Operation Sindoor, launched on May 7 in response to a terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam on April 22. The operation targeted nine terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, neutralizing over 100 terrorists. Modi highlighted the operation as a testament to India’s new counter-terrorism policy, stating, “Operation Sindoor is not just a military operation. It is the confluence of India’s policy, intention, and decisiveness.”

The Prime Minister also took aim at Pakistan’s false claims of damaging India’s S-400 air defense system at Adampur. A powerful image of Modi saluting with the intact S-400 in the background, alongside a MiG-29 jet, effectively debunked Pakistan’s propaganda. He asserted, “Not just terror camps, but Pakistan’s audacity has been destroyed,” reinforcing India’s resolve against terrorism.
“When our drones and missiles strike, the enemies hear ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’. It is not just a slogan but our soldiers’ pledge to dedicate their lives for the nation,” Modi said, as chants of “Bharat Mata ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram” echoed at the airbase.
The visit and speech were seen as a direct message to Pakistan, which had claimed its hypersonic missiles destroyed the S-400 system. Indian officials, supported by satellite imagery from the European Space Agency and NASA, confirmed no visible damage to Adampur or other airbases, including Avantipur, Udhampur, Pathankot, Bathinda, Suratgarh, and Sirsa.
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw also shared a video of the visit on X, captioning it, “Fact-check for Pakistan,” further highlighting the airbase’s operational status. The Prime Minister’s address not only boosted the morale of the armed forces but also sent a clear signal of India’s unwavering stance against terrorism and external aggression.

He reiterated India’s policy of zero tolerance for terrorism, stating, “We gave them a message that there is no place in Pakistan where terrorists could live peacefully. ‘Hum Ghar Mein Ghus Ke Marenge.’”
