Delhi NCR, 8 September 2025 — The School of Social Sciences, Christ (Deemed to be University), Delhi NCR, organised the Inaugural Investiture Ceremony of its student Clubs and Associations for the academic year 2025–26. The event marked the formal induction of student leaders from the departments of Media Studies, Political Science, and Economics.
The ceremony was graced by Chief Guest Prof. Shivaji Sarkar, veteran journalist and media educator, and Guest of Honour Ms. Manisha Khuntia, IES, Deputy Director at the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Government of India. Dr. Jeanne Paulose, Campus Dean, and faculty members from the School of Social Sciences were also present.
The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp, followed by a devotional dance performance by the Cultural Collective. In his address, Prof. Sarkar spoke on the importance of ethics, responsibility, and continuous learning in leadership. Ms. Khuntia shared insights from her administrative experience, highlighting the role of policy and governance in nation-building.
A significant highlight of the day was the launch of OIKOS magazine, led by the editorial team and student representatives. The investiture segment saw the conferring of badges to newly appointed office bearers of various clubs and associations, including EcoInspire (Economics Association), Vivechana (Political Science Association), MESTA (Media Studies Association), SDG Cell, Magnate (Entrepreneurship and IPR Cell), Samvaad, Athletica, Cultural Collective, and others. The oath of office was administered by Dr. Jitendra Bhandari, Academic Coordinator, School of Social Sciences.
The event also featured a skit by the SDG Cell on sustainability and social responsibility, followed by a cultural dance performance.

In her address, Dr. Shivani Chaudhary, Head of the School of Social Sciences, congratulated the student leaders and encouraged them to approach their responsibilities with commitment and purpose. The programme concluded with the Christ Anthem and a group photograph of dignitaries, faculty members, and student leaders.
The Investiture Ceremony served as a formal platform to acknowledge student leadership and mark the beginning of their tenure for the academic year.
