The initiative received strong endorsement from Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who emphasized its importance in fostering a skilled and future-ready workforce. “The IBM-AICTE AI Lab will enhance the quality of technical education by merging industry expertise with academic knowledge,” Pradhan said. “This collaboration is a crucial step toward realizing India’s vision of becoming a global technology powerhouse.”
The AI Lab is equipped with state-of-the-art computing infrastructure, specialized AI software, and a comprehensive digital repository. The initiative also integrates IBM SkillsBuild, which currently supports over 16 million learners globally and offers more than 1,000 AI-related courses designed to meet industry demands.

The launch of the IBM-AICTE AI Lab comes ahead of the India AI Impact Summit 2026, scheduled for February 19–20 in New Delhi.
